New Delhi (EMS). Researchers claim that the risk of many diseases can be reduced by walking briskly for just 11 minutes every day. In this study conducted by researchers from Cambridge University, emphasis has been laid on physical activity. Researchers say that physical activity like brisk walk reduces the risk of heart diseases, stroke and cancer. According to a study, every person should do brisk or moderate brisk walk for 11 minutes every day and high intensity brisk walk for 75 minutes a week. Because heart disease and stroke are the main causes of death in the world. Heart-related diseases caused approximately 1.79 crore deaths worldwide in 2019, while cancer was responsible for 96 lakh deaths in 2017. In such a situation, researchers believe that physical activity, mainly brisk walking, will reduce the risk of these diseases. Britain's National Health Service says everyone should do at least 75 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity for at least 150 minutes a week. In this study, researchers found 2 out of 3 people did more than 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise a week and one in 10 did more than 300 minutes of physical activity a week. In such a situation, researchers observed that people who did more than 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise had a significantly lower risk of developing any disease or early death. Not only this, the risk of death also reduced by about 23 percent in people who did physical activity for 75 minutes every week. The risk of cancer was seen to be reduced by 14-26 percent in people who did physical activity.
